I see a number of things that might cause problems in your power report, on th eother hand they may be innocent.įirst are you getting any Explorer crashes even when not using True Image?Īre you using the the Crossfire capability of NVidia cards and do you ahve the latests driver installed? Are there any beta versions of Acronis True Image 2014 that are higher than 6614, if so I'd like to try it to see if it fixes my current issues.

If Acronis ever makes an update to 6614 then I will try it, however right now I've decided to just remove Acronis True Image 2014 from my system and just use the boot disk to make image backups when I need them (and that's just a royal pain in butt). Bottomline I simply can not get Acronis True Image 2014 to work on my Windows 8.1 system (it worked on Windows 8.0 but not Windows 8.1), as I previously stated it resets my system during image creation in a window 8.1 environment. In general I like Acronis True Image products, (including True Image 2014, I have purchased (and registered) 5 different versions of True Image), however I think that True Image 2014 is going to to my last Acronis product. This is starting to get some attention so it should not be long before hardware manufacturers start issuing driver updates for affected devices. There are hacks to get around this, I am providing 2 links below that may or may not benefit you but at this point you have nothing to loose to at least give them a look and decide if you want to try them or not.

Most of these devices are USB devices thus far but I think the problem actually has more to do with the drivers for these devices not being compliant with Win 8.1 power schemes than anything else. There are reports that a virtual slew of devices will not work correctly under Win 8.1 because Win 8.1 has turned off the power to these devices and when demand for the device is requested Win 8.1 will not repower the device so the device will not work. I am going to go out on a limb here to a degree and suggest that it might be possible that what you are experiencing is a bug in the Win 8.1 release specifically with the way in which Win 8.1 handles power schemes. I take it you meant to say you backup to an NAS device? "No I perform the backup's on a SAN (Thecus N3200pro)."
